about excellerant
The Excellerant Story…
First, there is the inspiration. Frank is passionate about leaving people better then he finds them. He is an outstanding connector and facilitator. Frank has gathered years of experience with all kinds of groups making him an expert – the People Whisperer.
Second, there is the organization. Rachel is passionate about moving people forward. She is a savant when it comes to putting a method to madness. She has experience in both event management and people training which leads to an amazing resourcefulness.
Third, inspiration and organization collide. A match made in business heaven (and other places too); Frank and Rachel are able to be full brained. Frank’s right brain creativity and Rachel’s left-brain process result in a service company that provides the best of both worlds.
The story continues. We want to be a catalyst in the pursuit of Idealness, whether that means a personal journey or a company aching for change.
Meet Frank
Frank Keck, CSP – The People Whisperer
It all began in Mrs. Stannard’s 4th grade class. Frank was asked a question by his friend Todd, and not wanting to draw the attention of everyone else (and thus making that other student feel demeaned), Frank whispered in Todd’s ear some helpful information. (This was not during a test, we do not condone cheating!) Todd perked right up and gasped loudly enough for everyone to hear, “Ah, now I get it!” Todd went on to incredible heights that year in 4th grade and Frank realized the value of “whispering”.
Ms. Tighe’s English class, junior year of high school. Frank is entered in an original comedy speech contest, does 10 minutes of impromptu speaking and wins the competition. Frank learned the value of making people laugh as a way of keeping their attention and impacting their memories.
Fast forward to 1979, Kiel Auditorium in St. Louis, MO. Frank is attending a Zig Ziglar conference and sees how Zig can inspire thousands of people at once by speaking to a group of people (as opposed to just Todd). Frank realized the power of speaking to groups of people.
1990 and Frank is working for an international training company. He is being taught how to facilitate their signature training program. Frank’s mentor and boss, Steve, keeps telling Frank the same things over and over, and then making Frank practice them over and over. He makes Frank tell him how using these new skills has helped him be a better facilitator. Frank learned the importance of an ongoing learning cycle to improve behavior.
2006 and Frank receives his Certified Speaking Professional designation from the National Speakers Association. This confirms with Frank and thousands of others what Zig taught Frank back in St. Louis. You can get anything you want in life by helping other people get what they want.
A few years ago, Frank is at a dinner and meets the woman of his dreams. He realizes that in order to achieve a goal, you must first have a dream.

Things to know about me . . .
Awesome Toolbox
I loved studying Psychology and Sociology in college. It was effortless. And so interesting. The only problem was what to do with that Psych degree. Counseling wasn’t for me. Event management was.
I worked with a small company which gave me learning experience after learning experience. Web design – check, database management – check, computer networking – check, project management – check. Event management was exhausting and exhilarating, but not a good “Mom” career.
I jumped into a new field, the dental industry. As an account manager with a Salem, Oregon based company, I had the freedom to manage my territory and my time. Of course there was the issue of learning a whole new language. Dental coding was probably easier to learn than assertiveness. Instead of working long-distance with clients, I was face to face. Sometimes in a difficult situation. I built relationships, installed computers and networks, trained on software, and helped small business owners understand their financial reports and figure out where they wanted to go.
Faith
I believe in Frank’s ability to reach people. I have never met anyone better at asking the right questions. I have no qualms putting all my effort behind Excellerant and the work Frank does with clients. I love taking Frank’s creative ideas and packaging them so others can benefit.
Off Subject
I love being a Mom and having my husband as my work partner. I love having ice cream every night. I love creating – emails, cards, outfits. I love playing the piano.
